Kodak files for Chapter 11 in USA
Kodak have filed for chapter 11 in the USA meaning they have a year or so creditor protection in order to restructure
and hopefully emerge as a going concern. Kodak Australian operations are not part of this process and unaffected. Carindale
Camera Centre is not owned by Kodak and is therefore trading as normal. We have planned for the (highly unlikely) complete
demise of Kodak branded products and can obtain supplies and services from other suppliers regardless of what
eventuates.
The way we see it, the iconic brand started to decline when it failed to champion digital photography
even though it held patents over much of the technology. It failed to fully integrate its photo kiosk ordering with POS or
other back end equipment handicapping its full capabilities. They undermined their own specialty chain of stores
by discounting only to large retailers who change suppliers at the drop of a hat and often have a vested interest in undermining
iconic brands. At the same time they chose to go it alone by not sharing its online order capabilities with its distribution
chain of stores meaning both failed to obtain critical WWW mass.
We hope that the remaining 19,000 employees retain
employment with the companies that take over the various operations where applicable.

Enlargements as you have never seen them before
Whilst still retaining silver halide analogue print capability, Carindale Camera Centre has invested $80k in an
Australasian 1st technology upgrade including a 1440DPI fully digital printer. This means that the digital image that your
camera takes comes straight through digitally to our printer without the intervention of the analogue conversion built around
35mm film technology. No digital printer was considered good enough until the introduction of the Noritsu D1005HR which for
us heralds the dawn of unrivaled digital to digital printing with a 100 year print life. See your enlargements from 5x7"up
to 12x36" in 1440DPI as your digital camera took them for the 1st time and be amazed!

Carindale Camera Centre launches online campaign!
We have launched a campaign to widen awareness of how easy it is to order prints and enlargements, photobooks, canvas
prints and photo gift items plus much more from us in the comfort of your own home. We even have Android and iPhone
apps for you to order directly from your phone. Best of all you get free online storage which serves as backup of all uploaded
images in case of crashed computers or lost memory cards. They stay there securely stored until you delete them or tell us
you no longer want them.

As it slowly dawns on us all that our political leaders worldwide are highly unlikely to save the planet we at
Carindale Camera Centre are now assessing our environmental impact and ways to reduce it. Short of placing a plastic bag over
a nonbelievers head for a few minutes in the sun, some people will never believe the power of Co2. For us the fact that the
worlds oceans are becoming more acidic through the production of carbonic acid through the absorption of Co2 from the atmosphere
where it is now in the highest concentrations for 800,000 years is proof enough that the greenhouse effect is very real
and growing fast. In our opinion it's best to start doing something about it on an individual basis for the sake
of our kids.
We hope to make announcements in the near future on our progress.
